Philanthropy through sport
The associations we support
Sport dans la ville
Since 2019, Arkema has been supporting Sport dans la Ville, an association whose purpose is to promote the social and professional integration of young people from disadvantaged districts. To date, more than 10,000 young people are supported each year and benefit from sports and cultural activities on the one hand, but also from assistance in finding training or a job.
In 2023, Arkema is strengthening its support for the association and becoming a major partner. This is a natural extension of our commitment to inclusion and solidarity, as it is in line with our convictions and values.
Aimed at young people aged 14 to 25, the Job dans le Ville programme helps more than 2,300 young people each year to give them the best possible chance of success in their professional integration.
We offer them the opportunity to discover our business and our professions during site visits, but also through workshops to prepare for the world of work or by offering our employees the opportunity to sponsor a young person in the programme. Our internship, work-study and VIE offers are also open to them.
The Job dans la Ville programme was created to address the problem of unequal access to training and employment for young people from priority neighbourhoods, and to combat school dropout.
By reaffirming its commitment to the Association, Arkema is becoming a reference partner on which young people will be able to continue to rely in order to discover careers in science and industry, and to benefit from professional opportunities that will enable them to move forward on the road to success. This is a great opportunity!"
In Brazil, Arkema alongside Gol de Letra
Gol de Letra is a foundation set up in 1998 by Raí and Leonardo, the two famous Brazilian soccer world champions who played for PSG. It promotes social integration through education, sport and culture. As a "Gold" partner, Arkema Brazil supports the association's activities both financially and by involving its employees.
Gol de Letra welcomes over 4,500 children, teenagers and young adults every year to its centers in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Recognized by UNESCO, the association's mission is to contribute to the education of socially vulnerable children and young people in Brazil's favelas.
In 2024, Arkema, which has a presence in Brazil with 500 employees at some 15 sites, became a partner of the Foundation. This involves participation in two programs: the youth program and the "Jogo Aberto" program. Arkema supports the employability of young adults aged 14 to 21 by offering site visits, mentoring and workshops to prepare them for working life.
Dedicated to young people aged 8 to 18, the "Jogo Aberto" (open game) program offers some 15 sporting and educational activities.
Arkema's support will also enable us to offer supervised sports and leisure activities to young residents of local communities.
"We are convinced that the practice of sport is an essential element in the full development of young people: it fosters inclusion and social interaction, encourages autonomy and a sense of community, and enables public spaces to be occupied in a participative and engaging way. I'm delighted that Arkema has joined us in developing the Foundation's activities. We share the same passion for soccer, sport and the values they convey. Without partners like Arkema, Gol de Letra wouldn't have the same reach."

In India, Bostik strengthens its ties with local communities
By partnering with the Bovelander Foundation in India, Bostik aims to provide underprivileged children and young adults with opportunities that will enrich their personal, social, sporting and educational development.
The Bovelander Foundation uses sport, and field hockey in particular, to help children, young adults and their communities develop their personal, social, sporting and educational skills, and thus give them the means to aspire to a better future.
Beyond sport, the foundation also works in areas such as nutrition, health, education and financial literacy, according to local needs.
Convinced that investing in the development of individuals and communities is the key to unlocking their true potential, Bostik became a partner of the association in 2024 for the next three years and aims to bring about significant change within communities in India.
"Hockey has given me much more than just the pleasure of the game and the medals. I forged friendships, gained valuable lessons in teamwork, leadership and communication, and above all, I had the opportunity to grow as an individual. All these skills now help me to inspire and accompany children, young adults and communities in India. This is what the Bovelander Foundation is all about! We are delighted with our collaboration with Bostik, which will help us extend our reach and impact. Field hockey is much more than just a game!"
