Extra-financial rating of Arkema, result of our CSR approach
Arkema’s performance and progress in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development are recognized by several extra-financial rating agencies and rewarded several occasions. These awards highlight the progress and the results achieved in this field, based on the implication of the teams on these major issues for the Group.
Arkema obtained in November 2015 the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Improvement Award – France, rewarding its significant progress in transparency and performance. CDP is an international organization representing a group of over 800 major investors which surveys the integration of climate change issues within the strategies of listed companies.
Arkema is listed to the Euronext Vigeo Eurozone 120 index which gather the top 120 publicly traded companies in terms of corporate responsibility according to the rating agency's criteria.
Since 2015, Arkema is ranking among the top 10 European chemical companies with the highest CSR performance.
Vigeo uses environment, human rights, human resources, local economy contribution, commercial behaviour and gouvernance criteria to establish the CSR performance rating of the assessed companies.
To compose the index, Vigeo covers 500 issuers among the largest free-float market capitalization in the Eurozone.
Created by the global index company FTSE, FTSE4Good is an equity index series that is designed to facilitate investment in companies that meet globally recognised corporate responsibility standards.
Hence, the FTSE rating helps the approaches of :
- Identification of socially responsible companies
- Assessment of a company's extra-financial performance
- Benchmarking of a responsible investment portfolio performance
EcoVadis assess the companies in terms of extra-financial performance at the request of their clients. The analysis rely on 4 themes: environment, social, ethics and supply chain.
The "gold level" obtained by Arkema is the highest level of CSR performance. The Group ranks among the top 5% of companies with the highest CSR performance on this benchmark.
Awards for governance and financial communication
In 2015, Arkema has been rewarded with the Grand Prix de la Transparence in the “Oil, Gas, Materials and Buildings” category. This award recognizes the quality of regulated information provided by the Group to the market in particular in terms of accessibility, detail, comparability and availability of information.
The same year, Arkema received the second prize in Dynamique de Gouvernance at the 12th edition of Grands Prix du Gouvernement d’Entreprise organized by the economic and financial publication Agefi. This prize rewards the best overall improvement in corporate governance.
