This year, Arkema sites in France and around the world have redoubled their efforts, thanks to employee donations, to bring joy and support to those who need it most in local communities.

Arkema's commitment to solidarity in France...

As every year, at the Serquigny/Cerdato, Venette, Feuchy, GRL, Lacq, Mont and Jarrie sites, our teams enthusiastically took part in the Green Santa initiative organized by Secours Populaire, collecting toys, books and other festive items from employees. Since 1976, this initiative has enabled families in difficulty to experience real moments of happiness. Volunteers, dressed in green suits, travel all over France to collect funds, organize parades, and ultimately help Red Santa Claus to give gifts to families in need.

At the CRRA, Pierre-Bénite and CETIA sites, the Boîte de Noël Solidaire was a resounding success. This simple but powerful concept involves filling a box - often a shoebox - with essential items and small pleasures for a person in need. These gifts are then distributed at collections organized by charities.

Arkema employees have shown great generosity, helping to bring a little warmth and comfort to those who need it most.

...and internationally!

In Brazil, employees took part in Projeto Orsi's 14th Solidaire Christmas, an initiative offering assistance to people in vulnerable situations. Over 365 toys were donated to children in São Paulo and São Roque. In addition, 64 children cared for by the aMAIS Institute, a support group for parents of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), received dolls, cars, play dough and games to brighten up their Christmas.

In Germany, the Diakonie social service in Düsseldorf made available a list containing 21 Christmas wishes from children in socially disadvantaged elementary school. Employees at the Düsseldorf head office generously responded to these wishes, offering gifts that brought happiness and hope to these youngsters.

In the UK, the Bostik Siroflex, Stafford and Kidderminster sites were extremely active last month, organizing a food drive for charity. All donations were given to their local food banks: Barnsley food bank, House of Bread food bank and Wyre Forest food bank, and were collected last week. The aim of the initiative, entitled “Helping make food banks the place where hunger ends and hope begins this winter”, is to provide practical help over the winter period. A remarkable sum was raised at all sites, reaching a total of £1,461.

Each initiative, led by Arkema's teams, illustrates a deep commitment to local communities and embodies one of Arkema's five HR values, solidarity, which is also reflected externally. These initiatives, which are part of the Common Ground® program, help strengthen these ties by providing support and comfort to those who need it most.
