Arkema dives with Mexico's women's artistic swimming team
A united team
For Mexico's national artistic swimming team, 2024 is the year of all challenges:
- participation in the Mexican Artistic Swimming World Cup, which will be held in three stages between May and July in Paris, Markham in Canada and Budapest,
- and, of course, Paris during the 2024 summer!
Yet the journey of this young team of twelve athletes has not always been a smooth one: this year, the government has cut the budget for sporting activities and decided not to fund the team, which had to seek outside resources through corporate partnerships.
Arkema Mexico had no hesitation in becoming one of the sponsors of this crack team, more motivated and trained than ever!
A partner of choice
The team can count on an experienced athlete, the professional artistic swimmer Jessisa Sobrino.
Aged 29, she is capable of performing spectacular acrobatics and some of the world's most challenging aquatic figures.
Standing at 1m 58 cm, she is proud to claim that she won her case to eliminate the 1m 60 rule that restricted athletes below this height. She is already a multi-medalist, notably at the Pan-American Games and those of Central America and the Caribbean.
Attracted by her talent, strength of character and self-sacrifice in training (8 hours a day!), the Arkema Mexico head office team also decided to provide her with monthly financial support for all her transport costs.
