The D1 Arkema 2020/21 season delivered its verdict last weekend, with Paris Saint-Germain crowned French champions following an undefeated season. As with every end of season, this is a time for results and awards and for presenting the trophies for championship best female players, referees and coaches.

Due to the health crisis, the traditional D1 Arkema Trophies ceremony could not be held, but all the winners were able to receive their trophies rewarding their amazing season. Trophies that were somewhat unusual in more ways than one. Firstly, their design is the product of the imagination of Katherine Gascon, a Group employee from the Bristol site in the US, who last year won an in-house competition. They were then 3D-printed using our Rilsan® powders, and so are biosourced and recyclable!

This project was made possible thanks to close collaboration between Arkema, the French Football Federation, and the company Erpro, a long-standing Arkema partner.

This season also marks the creation of a new trophy, the “Coup de Cœur Arkema” trophy. Its aim is to raise the profile of a D1 Arkema club’s local initiative on issues that are dear to Arkema and the FFF, for example the place of women in society and in sport, or access to education.

This first “Coup de Cœur Arkema” trophy in history was won by the Club du Havre for its commitment embodied in its “Club Citoyennes” project. Football serves as a link for exchanges and meetings for all audiences and in particular the priority neighborhoods of the City, the world of disability, the education sector, amateur sport, and civil society associations.

This year, the program has enabled young people in Le Havre to meet with male and female players of the Havre Athletic Club, have access to a module for high-level sport learning and awareness, as well as visit the Océane stadium (25,178 seats).
