Arkema is a global manufacturer in specialty materials and is present in Argentina.
The Group's main customers in the country operate in the following markets: Oil & gas, hygiene, construction, automotive, packaging, rubber, coatings, plastic & petrochemicals amongs others.
In 1999 Elf Atochem took control of Vetek, sharing the operation with a local partner. The activity was focus on the distribution of gas odorants and services for oil refineries and also other business units of the group, such as fluorogases, glass coating, technical polymers, plastics, etc.
In 2006 Arkema was established following the spin-off of Total SA’s chemical branch, formerly Elf Atochem. The Group listed on the Paris stock market.
In 2015, Bostik, the world leader in adhesive technologies, joined the Group to improve its product offering.
In 2017, Arkema acquired 100% of Vetek´s shares. Starting a stage of expansion and integration with all Arkema business units globally. Part of this integration was formalized with the inauguration of new commercial offices that it shares in the city of Buenos Aires with Bostik Argentina. In 2020 Vetek changes its name to Arkema Argentina SAU.
