Nippon Shokubai and Arkema: a strategic partnership to mass-produce LiFSI electrolyte salts for a European battery supply chain
Performance of electrolyte lithium salts is highly dependent on their purity. Using expertise in both fluorochemicals and industrial processes, Arkema has developed two new ultra pure LiFSI and LiTDI salts.
LiFSI, known as the next blockbuster Lithium salt, has the highest ionic conductivity and is extremely stable (even at 5V). These characteristics make LiFSI an excellent choice for all voltage and cathode/anode systems.
LiTDI is an additive that helps significantly increase battery lifetime, due to several properties: Solid Electrolyte Interface (SEI) stabilization, HF and water scavenging, and aluminum current collector passivation.
