Aerospace, automotive, boating, sports equipment, wind power… Manufacturers are showing growing interest in biomaterials, lightweight materials and the recycling of their products. Arkema develops resins and polymers that make it possible to manufacture recyclable composites, innovative additives for all types of composites, thermoplastics or thermosets, which make them more resistant, and structural adhesives for high-performance and easy-to-use assemblies.
Elium® thermoplastic resins are unique on the market and are used to make thermoplastic and recyclable composite parts. Kepstan® PEKK, thanks to this high performance polyether (PEKK), the final composite acquires a high resistance to violent impacts, high temperatures and very aggressive chemicals. Kynar® PVDF which offers enhanced mechanical properties including increased rigidity, excellent resistance to high temperatures, UV, chemicals and fire. Rilsan® PA11 100% biobased, this high performance polyamide has properties of chemical resistance to abrasion and impact, at high and low temperature. Pebax® thermoplastic elastomers. Sartomer® advanced (bio based) crosslinkers & reactive diluents enable lower VOCs content and enhanced performances.

New Elium® resin for solid-surface
Arkema just launched its new Elium® C445 resin for solid-surface applications. It is a liquid acrylic resin specially adapted for room temperature casting of large objects. It is perfectly formulated to receive high mineral filler rates while maintaining high water, thermal shock and scratch resistance.
Elium® resins: a revolution for construction
Elium® liquid thermoplastic resins stand out in many ways. Their suitability for recycling and for a number of processing techniques, in particular pultrusion into rods and profiles, makes it an ultra innovative choice material.
This adaptability opens up new prospects: for reinforcing rods of armored concrete made of composites which can be hot-cast thanks to the thermoplastic nature of the Elium® resin ; also for structural cables used in the construction of pre-stressed concrete structures and bridges.
