At a press trip to China on October 11th and 12th, Thierry Le Hénaff, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Arkema, will inaugurate two new units on the Group’s Changshu site near Shanghai, for the production of fluorinated polymers (PVDF Kynar®) and rheology additives (Coatex). At the same time, he also announced the creation of a Research and Development Center on the same site.
These projects are perfectly in line with Arkema’s strategy to increase its presence in Asia, and to achieve 25% of its global sales in the region by 2015. They also illustrate the Group’s commitment to speeding up its innovation drive in sustainable development solutions.
Finally, Thierry Le Hénaff confirmed the Group’s objective for 2011 to achieve an EBITDA in excess of €1 billion, and to become in the medium term a global specialty chemicals leader with profitability on a par with the best in the sector.
