The commitments made by Arkema since 2012 in Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) are paying off.

Five non-financial rating agencies (CDP, RobecoSAM, FTSE4Good, EcoVadis, Vigeo-Eiris) have recently released their evaluation findings which show sustainable progress in the Group’s CSR performance.

This achievement confirms the relevance of Arkema’s CSR policy as the Company looks to join the ranks of the top performing companies in its industry.

These results reflect the effectiveness of our CSR policy, which includes firm commitments to safety, environment, innovation, social and societal issues. We have set in motion concrete programs which are leading to significant improvements in the Group’s impacts in each of these areas. For example, we contribute to the UN’s sustainable development goals (SDGs) on “climate”, “water and “energy” (SDGs 7, 6 and 13), through both the operational control of our emissions and the marketing of innovative and sustainable solutions.

Two agencies in particular gave very good ratings to Arkema:

  • CDP, an international non-profit organization which analyzes the integration of the environmental dimension in the strategies of over 5,600 companies around the world, assessed very positively Arkema's actions on the issues of climate change and water management with “A -“ and “B” rating respectively.

  • For RobecoSAM, a sustainability investing organization, Arkema has made substantial progress in the various facets of CSR. The significant improvement in the results of this rating holds out the possibility that Arkema could eventually be listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) which compiles the CSR top performing companies based on their RobecoSAM ratings.
