Effective 1st September 2016 Christophe André will be joining Arkema’s Executive Committee to oversee the Technical Polymers and Performance Additives activities (filtration, organic peroxides and photocure resins) within the High Performance Materials segment. He will also be responsible for digital affairs within the Group.

Christophe André, 45 years old, is a graduate engineer from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications and from ESSEC, and holds an MBA from the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD).

After several postings in the field of Telecommunications, he joined specialty chemicals manufacturer Rohm & Haas in 2001 where he oversaw the development of the Monomers division Europe-wide before managing the Adhesives and Packaging division. In 2008 he joined ArjoWiggins, world leader in the manufacture of technical and creative paper, to run ArjoWiggins Graphic, one of the company’s five divisions. He joined the Arkema Group in 2012 as Managing Director of the Thiochemicals Business Line.

Effective 1st September 2016 Frédéric Vartician is being appointed Managing Director of the Thiochemicals Business Line, replacing Christophe André.


 

Frédéric Vartician, 48 years old, graduated from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Génie Chimique (ENSIGC), from Imperial College in London, and from Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Pétrole et des Moteurs (ENSPM).

He began his career at Elf Atochem in 1993. In 1995, he was put in charge of the industrial sites remediation activity within the subsidiary CECA, and in 1999 of Corporate Planning and Strategy within the Acrylics BU. In 2003 he became Methyl Methacrylate Product Manager, and in 2005 Head of the Oxo Alcohols and Plasticizers Department. In 2007, he took over the management of the Functional Polyolefins Department. After joining the Arkema subsidiary Altuglas International as General Manager PMMA Sheet business Europe in 2010, he was appointed General Manager Acrylic Monomers Europe in July 2014.
