Photocure resins (Sartomer)
As a global supplier of photocure resins, monomers and acrylate and methacrylate oligomers, Sartomer, subsidiary of Arkema, helps its customers to choose the right products and the way to process them.
The acrylate and methacrylate monomer lines of the Sartomer activity include monofunctional and polyfunctional products. Sartomer also offers a wide variety of ethoxylated and propoxylated monomers that offer high molecular weights for lower skin irritation, better flexibility and faster cure speeds.
Sartomer monomers can also be tailored for water-dispersible, adhesion-promoting and pigment-dispersing applications.
The oligomer product line includes:
- epoxy acrylates
- urethane acrylates
- half esters of unsaturated dicarboxylic acids
- polyester acrylates
- acrylated acrylics
- low viscosity oligomers
Its fast curing epoxy acrylate oligomers are used to make films which are solid and solvent-resistant. In addition, its range of urethane acrylate oligomers provides formulators with a wide array of properties allowing them to optimize the performance levels of their coatings and inks.
Working with customers to find the best solution
Sartomer works closely with its customers to help them identify the best product, define a formulation strategy and configure the parameters related to the curing operations. The company provides solutions which are compatible with curing processes using ultraviolet light, electron beams, heat or peroxides.
Its products contain low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOC) and are widely used in many markets for:
- curing coatings, adhesives and high performance seals,
- improving the resistance of plastics to fire and impacts and enhancing their flexibility.
