Arkema's Elium® Resin was featured in the most recent issue of Professional BoatBuilder magazine for its training with Community College of New Brunswick INNOV program's Advanced Materials Division.

Elium® is a thermoplastic resin produced by Arkema. It’s designed to, among other things, help make products recyclable. There’s no disputing its effectiveness.

Specially adapted to resin infusion process of large parts with a low viscosity, long reactivity and low exothermy, Elium® is well adapted to the composite boats industry and their production. Here is a remarkable story of how harsh conditions in a faraway fishing town made for the perfect place to train boatbuilders how to use it.

“These boats have to be very sturdy because they go in cold weather fishing lobster and crab in the winter. We wanted to show people the resin is very robust.”
