Arkema will present its market-leading portfolio of materials that improve the performance of today's batteries and prepare for the next technological breakthroughs at The Battery Show North America, Sept. 13-15 in Novi, Mich.

In addition, Arkema will highlight recent partnerships, acquisitions and production capacity increases that will enable it to address demand and pursue its long-standing commitment to the global R&D effort for the development of electric mobility.

Arkema representatives will share their expertise and feature a range of high performance materials for the battery cell, module, pack and systems at booth #3035.

  • In February, Arkema completed the acquisition of Ashland's Performance Adhesives business, a leading U.S. high-performance adhesives company. With this operation, Bostik is reinforcing its technology breadth for structural bonding – a key asset for the assembly of battery systems. This is fully in line with the Group's strategy to become a pure player in Specialty Materials by 2024. Read more here.
  • Earlier this year, Arkema announced a 50 percent increase in fluoropolymer production capacity at its Changshu site, which will start up in late 2022. Arkema, a world leader in PVDF production, also announced a 50 percent increase in PVDF production capacity at its Pierre-Bénite site in France, scheduled to start up in the first quarter of 2023.   • Arkema and Nippon Shokubai are joining forces to launch feasibility studies and establish a joint venture for the construction of an industrial plant on Arkema Pierre-Bénite (France) plant for the production of LiFSI (Lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide) ultrapure electrolyte salts, a key component of battery cells for electric mobility.
