Altuglas International supports the Ecole Polytechnique, by offering free acrylic sheets for the manufacture of protective visors for healthcare personnel.

The Altuglas® sheets, widely used in this pandemic period for anti-Covid protective screens for public of private areas, have also been adopted for the production of protective visors headbands.

The students of the Ecole Polytechnique and their industrial partners have mobilized to help volunteer throughout the health crisis. To meet the urgent need for protection for the various nursing staff, they have undertaken to produce visors.

Altuglas International immediately responded to their search for material for making the visor headband. Three pallets (140m2) of opaque white sheets have left the Saint-Avold factory to join the School's prototyping space.

The headbands have been laser cut from Altuglas® sheets. Then a flexible PVC sheet were fixed to this headband. In total, nearly 7,000 visors were produced, then assembled and transmitted to hospitals, liberal nurses, fire stations or nursing homes in the Paris region.

Altuglas International staff is proud to have contributed to this mutual aid operation.
