The Mobile Chamber recognized the plant at its 9th Annual State of the Economy event at the Saenger Theatre in downtown Mobile, Alabama.
Arkema’s Axis (Mobile), Alabama, site was selected by the Mobile Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Team as the 2023 Manufacturer of the year. This award recognizes Arkema's commitment and excellence in Mobile County’s manufacturing industry, as seen through four decades of responsible operation at the plant and harmony with the local community.
For almost a decade, the Mobile Chamber’s Manufacturer of the Year award has been a hallmark of excellence in the business community of Mobile County. The award celebrates a manufacturing business’s dedication, contributions, and outstanding achievements in promoting economic growth for Mobile. Winners are chosen based on their exceptional performance in several key areas, including operating excellence, continuous improvement, profitable growth, and investment in training and retaining talent.
“We’ve been in operation here for over 42 years now,” said Rene Neron, the Axis Plant Manager. “Arkema’s Axis site typically attracts local talent that stay with the company, so I think we’re a good employer for those folks. Personnel are able to progress within operations or into management positions, including other positions across Arkema globally.”
