For many years, Arkema has pursued a proactive policy of integrating people with disabilities. To support this initiative, we have become a partner of “Different is Beautiful”, an association created by our employee Francesca Clayton who works on Arkema Lacq-Mourenx site (France).
After a first series of photographic portraits "Different is beautiful" telling 11 women and their story through their complexes, Francesca decided to continue her artistic pilgrimage with "Different is beautiful 2.0": a series of portraits realized through France in 2022 and dedicated to the disabled people.
Students, athletes, models, influencers, enthusiasts, all the models Francesca has met tell their stories through photography, not to change our view, but to make us look at them in the face.

"Disability is a theme that has always been close to my heart, and I have experienced with anger these "looks that must be changed”. So, I wanted to act at my level by combining photography, my passion, and my fight. I believe that the power of acceptance is such a precious asset, and we all play an important role in changing it. I'm happy to see that the Arkema Group is supporting me in this endeavor and taking action to move the lines."

The exhibition can be seen since March 8 and until April 8 in Pau, on the Place Georges Clemenceau. It will then continue throughout France in 2023 and 2024, with several cities already showing strong interest. It will culminate in visibility during the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, which has yet to be confirmed.
At Arkema, several French sites have also expressed interest in hosting the exhibition. The program has yet to be developed, but we are proud to support and promote our employee's commitment, which is perfectly aligned with our values and our Diversity and Inclusion policy.
