As exemplified by its research programs into composite materials in wind power with the Elium® thermoplastic resin, and by its recent successes in high temperature polymers with Rilsan® HT polyamide, in solutions for 3D printing and in the new energies sector with Kynar® fluoropolymer, Arkema demonstrates the performance of its R&D by joining the top 100 global innovators for the sixth consecutive year - 2016 Top 100 Global Innovators report by Clarivate Analytics (ex Thomson Reuters).
Sustained by a heavily application- and customer-oriented R&D, we strongly capitalize on our technology and our responsiveness to anticipate the needs of the markets. Innovation is our driving force, and our materials and solutions help change uses to address the major sustainable development trends. Being part of the top 100 global innovators for the 6th year in a row is a source of great pride for Arkema and a tremendous reward for our teams
Innovation, Arkema's DNA
Every year, some 200 patents are filed and over 200 million euros are allocated to R&D, with 1500 researchers working in the three main regional research and innovation hubs - in France, the United States, and Asia (China and Japan). Six major platforms drive the Group’s R&D to address the main issues facing society: biosourced products, new energies, water management, weight reduction and design of materials, performance and insulation of buildings, and solutions for electronics.
Arkema innovates in close touch with its ecosystem, in an open and connected way. The Group constantly looks out for external scientific skills, and identifies technologies of the future through partnerships with fifty or so higher education establishments, universities and public research bodies around the world.
