The first edition of the Convergence trade show is being held in Paris from 6 to 9 December 2016. Among the major exhibitors at this new event dedicated to the challenges of the Industry of the Future, Arkema will present its latest innovations in the fields of thermoplastic composites and additive manufacturing - or 3D printing.
The Convergence forum’s objective: to showcase French know-how in industrial technologies of the future, and help companies modernize their production tool.
A specialty chemicals and advanced materials manufacturer with a strong R&D presence in France, Arkema will naturally attend this event which is showcasing innovation in France.
The Group will be exhibiting its offering of resins and high performance polymers for the manufacture of lightweight, ultra-tough and recyclable thermoplastic composites.
The product range on show will include:
- Elium® and Polystrand®, two materials designed to replace metal in vehicles and hence make them lighter and reducing their fuel consumption, as well as produce a new generation of recyclable wind turbine blades,
- Kepstan®, an ultra high performance polymer earmarked for the manufacture of technical parts for the aerospace and oil industries.
Arkema will also present its comprehensive range of powders and resins for the 3D printing market, a fast expanding industrial manufacturing process:
- Sartomer® photocure acrylic resins for the Polyjet and stereolithography technologies,
- Orgasol® and Rilsan® polyamide powders for the laser sintering technology.
