Arkema Mexico is proud to announce the sponsorship of three distinguished Mexican athletes—Brenda Osnaya, Claudia Romero, and Ian Nava—whose careers exemplify resilience, excellence, and inclusion. This initiative reflects the company’s broader commitment to supporting young talent and driving positive societal impact, in alignment with Arkema’s core values.
At Arkema, we recognize that innovation is not confined to our laboratories and production facilities. Our commitment to sustainability, performance, and societal progress extends beyond the industrial sphere and into areas that shape lives—such as the world of sport. Through the application of our advanced materials in equipment like helmets, eyewear, boots, and bicycles, we contribute to athletic excellence. We are proud to take this commitment further by directly supporting the individuals who embody determination, resilience, and excellence.
Arkema Mexico is honored to announce its official sponsorship of three distinguished Mexican athletes whose careers exemplify the values we uphold: performance, empowerment, solidarity, simplicity and inclusion.
Brenda Osnaya – A Pioneer in Paratriathlon
Brenda Osnaya holds the distinction of being the first Mexican woman to compete in paratriathlon at the Paralympic Games, having represented Mexico with pride at Tokyo 2020. Her athletic journey began in the field of inline skating, where she competed at an international level. A life-altering spinal cord injury at the age of 17 forced her to redirect her ambitions.
Rather than allowing this event to mark an end, she transformed it into a new beginning—pursuing swimming as therapy before discovering paratriathlon, where she has since earned global recognition and multiple medals.
Claudia Romero – A Testament to Perseverance and Excellence
Introduced to para taekwondo at the age of three under the guidance of her father, a coach in the discipline, Claudia Romero quickly developed a deep passion for the sport.
Although she narrowly missed qualifying for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, this challenge only deepened her resolve. Her relentless efforts culminated in her qualification for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, and she has reached the top of the global rankings in her category—solidifying her status as one of the sport’s most accomplished athletes.
Ian Nava – A Promising Talent in Diving
Despite his young age, Ian Nava has already distinguished himself as one of Mexico’s most promising divers. With an impressive record of 20 gold medals and 23 total podium finishes in the CONADE National Games, he represents the new generation of Mexican athletic excellence. His commitment, discipline, and passion have set him on a clear path toward achieving his long-term objective: competing in the 2028 Olympic Games.
We are deeply proud to support the continued growth and success of these three exceptional athletes. Their stories of perseverance, transformation, and triumph reflect the very essence of what Arkema stands for as a company.
In supporting Brenda, Claudia, and Ian, we reaffirm our dedication not only to technological innovation and sustainability but also to fostering young talent, celebrating diversity, and empowering those who inspire positive change in our communities and beyond."
