Kyoto Technical Center (KTC) is located at the heart of Kyoto, one of the most famous historical cities in the world. KTC is in Kyoto Research Park, in the center of Kyoto with easy access to/from Kansai International Airport and Kyoto station. Since 1993, KTC has supported Arkema’s customers in the Asia-Pacific region.

Vision

KTC aspires to become an essential and reliable expertise provider and a partner for all Arkema's current and future customers in Japan, Korea and all over the Asia-Pacific region.

While providing high level of technical support tailored to our customers' needs, the KTC team, through application development and collaboration with top-notch local partners, participates in creating new businesses.

Laboratories & Workshop

All our engineers are working closely with the other Arkema group research centers in France, USA and China to provide high level technical support and create new business in the Asia-Pacific region.

Partnerships

Partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region is key for the continuous growth of KTC. From new business development point of view, KTC has established strong partnerships with customers in chemical, automotive, electronics, paints and coating and photovoltaic industries in the field of new energy development, renewable materials, lightweight materials, water management and organic electronics.

Also, KTC has partnerships with major universities both in terms of research projects and researcher exchange.

Health, safety and environment (HSE)

Arkema places safety and the protection of its personnel’s health at the center of its priorities.HSE is always our top priority and it remains at the core of all KTC's activities. Frequently held safety audits and review meetings enable us to foster strong awareness of its importance and make us continue to strive in our attempts to raise our safety standards even higher. In May 2023, ARKEMA K.K. recorded 20 years zero total recordable injury rate (TRIR). Arkema aims to make further progress and achieve a 0.9 TRIR by 2025.
