Arkema, a global manufacturer of special materials, is present in Brazil with approximately 600 employees, 2 commercial offices, 7 production units, 7 laboratories and 5 distribution centers.

The Group's main customers in the country operate in the civil construction, plastics, coatings, paints, refrigeration, packaging, oil, gas, automotive and transport sectors.

Our history

Arkema was established following the spin-off of Total SA's chemical subsidiary, formerly Elf Atochem. In 2006, the Group was listed on the Paris stock exchange.

Arkema completed the global acquisition of Coatex in 2007 and, in 2012, purchased the Araçariguama plant (São Paulo region), specialized in emulsions and additives for Coatex and Coating Resins.

In 2015, Bostik, a global leader in glue and adhesive technologies, joined the Group to enhance its product offering. Bostik has factories in São Roque, Araraquara and São José do Rio Preto.

In 2019, Arkema announced the purchase of ArrMaz, a global manufacturer of special surfactants, which has locations in Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro.

In 2021, Bostik announced the acquisition of Poliplás, a national manufacturer of hybrid adhesives and sealants.

In 2022, Arkema completed the acquisition of Polimeros Especiales in Mexico, strengthening the Group's offering in solvent-free solutions and its position in this fast-growing region.

Finally, in 2023, after a global repositioning, ArrMaz becomes a brand of BU Arkema Surfactantes Especiais.

A company committted to Inclusion & Diversity

Inclusion is a value for Arkema, so encouraging diversity both inside and outside the organization is a commitment we make every day.

With the Marie Project, we promote gender equality and women's empowerment. The initiative was inspired by global social responsibility guidelines and assertive targets for increasing the number of women in leadership in the Group.

Globally, Arkema is a signatory of UN Women and, in Brazil, is part of the Business Coalition: Together to Combat Violence against Women and Girls.
