Our history
Arkema in Germany was founded as a sales office under the name Aquitana Kunststoffe G.m.b.H. in Düsseldorf in 1963. In 1990, we acquired Luperox GmbH, our current branch in Günzburg, in 1998 followed the acquisition of the hydrogen peroxide branch in Leuna and in 2011, we acquired the former Cray Valley Kunstharze GmbH, now the Coating Resins branch in Zwickau.
Arkema was established following the spin-off of Total SA’s chemical branch, formerly Elf Atochem. In Germany, it became Arkema GmbH. In 2006, the Group was listed on the Paris stock market.
As part of the acquisition of the globally active Bostik Group at the beginning of 2015, Arkema GmbH acquired the shares in the German Bostik GmbH and at the end of 2016, as part of the purchase of the Dutch DenBraven Group, acquired its two German subsidiaries. These activities will continue as independent subsidiaries.
