The Team Arkema duo arrived on Sunday 15 November in third place in the Multi50 class of this 2015 edition of a race that was fought in particularly adverse weather conditions.
The skipper and co-skipper of the Arkema trimaran successfully coped with a variety of hazards to complete the race. Faced with a problem with their boat off the coast of Brazil, the crew docked in Salvador de Bahia to carry out repairs, and have now completed this tough transatlantic race in third place in their class.

At this stage of the competition, 18 boats have already dropped out of a race that has proved so challenging for both man and machine.
Once again, the Arkema products on board the multihull have proved their worth, as they successfully stood up to these extreme conditions. Furthermore, the repair of the damage, to part of the bottom of the hull, was successfully carried out in a very short space of time thanks to the AEC Polymers SAF® methacrylate glue.
On the strength of their record in previous races, Arkema’s products such as Altuglas® ShiedUp are now installed on other prestigious monohulls and multihulls, including the Macif trimaran which won the Transat 2015 race.
