The Coating Resins business line of Arkema announced today that the company has increased throughput at its powder coating resins manufacturing facility in North Kansas City, MO by approximately 35 percent. The facility supplies customers in the Americas with REAFREE® polyester powder coating resins.
“The North Kansas City facility is the newest powder coating polyester resin production facility in North America,” Michael Iwaniw, North American Market Manager for Arkema Coating Resins, explained. “By upgrading automation processes, streamlining production and revising processing methods, we are now better equipped to meet the demands of this fast growing industry.”
According to Iwaniw, the powder coating market is growing considerably faster than the coatings market as a whole, requiring companies to adapt and expand to meet that need. Arkema currently provides REAFREE® polyester powder coating resins to the Americas from the North Kansas City facility and to Europe and Asia from another plant in Spain. The company also maintains full service product laboratories at both locations.
