Originally developed as a methyl bromide replacement, dimethyl disulfide (DMDS) has demonstrated consistent performance as a broad spectrum soil fumigant used for the control or suppression of nematodes, various soil-borne plant diseases and weeds, with particular success against nutsedge (Cyperus sp.).

 

Globally, an integrated pest management strategy based on DMDS has demonstrated a consistent ability to deliver marketable yields that are comparable to methyl bromide, but at a distinctly lower cost.

Paladin® is a pre-plant soil fumigant for the control or suppression of weeds, soil-borne plant pathogens and nematodes in soils to be planted with vegetable and fruit crops where plastic-culture is used for fumigation. The fumigant is registered by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a restricted use pesticide to be used only by Certified Applicators.
