The Arkema group is the third largest producer of hydrogen peroxide in the world. The Hydrogen peroxide activity contributes to the growth of its customers in Europe, North America and Asia. Its priorities are safety, product stewardship and the protection of the environment.
The Hydrogen peroxide actvity has five production facilities in the world with a production capacity of more than 400,000 tons per year. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is commonly used to:
- bleach paper pulp, textiles and food fibers,
- treat waste water,
- clean printed circuit boards.
In France the Hydrogen peroxide activity also produces sodium chlorate, which is used in the paper industry and also for the synthesis of chemical products and the production of herbicides.
