Arkema Fluorochemicals Division produces chemicals, which can be used as catalysts or intermediates for health products. These products are BF₃ and BTFM.

Markets and applications

BF₃ (boron trifluoride, a compressed gaz) and its complexes are catalysts used in synthetic rubber, polyalphaolefine and resins synthesis processes. They are also used as pharmaceutical active principles for antibiotics like cephalosporins and quinolins.
BTFM (bromotrifluoromethane) is an intermediate for organic synthesis.
