Norsocryl® Specialty Monomers

Description

Specialty monomers are produced mainly by transesterification.

Properties

  • Ability to polymerize and copolymerize with other (meth)acrylic, styrenic monomers.
  • With respect to the monomer functional groups, properties like adhesion on polar substrates (DMAEMA, TBAEMA, ureido) or apolar substrates ISOBORA) and wet adhesion (ureido monomers) can be promoted.
  • Solubility in non-polar solvents for long-chain alkyl (meth)acrylates.

Markets and applications

Specialty monomers may be used in a wide range of fields such as coatings, lubricants, adhesives, crosslinking etc., making for unique polymer performance.
