Arkema announced today that effective July 1, 2008, or as contracts allow, it will raise the price of its oxygenated solvents in Europe by 100 Euro/ton. Solvents impacted by this increase are:

- Methyl Isobutyl Ketone (MIBK),
- Methyl Isobutyl Carbinol (MIBC),
- Diacetone Alcohol (DAA),
- Hexylene Glycol (HG),
- Isophorone.
This price adjustment is necessary to offset the increase of raw materials, energy and transportation costs.
The oxygenated solvents manufactured by Arkema are used in a wide range of markets such as paints and coatings, pharmaceuticals, lubricants, detergency and personal care.
