Arkema and Amber Composites have entered into a collaborative agreement to develop the next generation of high performance prepreg systems based on Arkema’s Graphistrength™ multi-wall carbon nanotubes and Amber’s proprietary resins.

Prepreg systems enhanced with carbon nanotubes exhibit extraordinary mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties. Lower weight, higher toughness and improved impact resistance are the focus of Amber and Arkema’s development.

Multi-wall carbon nanotubes consist of graphitic sheets that have been rolled into a cylindrical shape. Arkema’s

Graphistrength™ nanotubes are approximately 10nm in diameter and are a few micrometers in length.
