Kynar® 340

Description

Arkema has developed a new Kynar® PVDF grade with outstanding conductivity making it possible to meet all ATEX regulation criteria for equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres. Kynar® 340 eliminates the risk of electrostatic charges. Kynar® 340 resin is based on a patented innovative process developed by the Arkema Technical Polymers R&D Department.

As a standard grade of Kynar® PVDF, Kynar® 340 is a tough engineering thermoplastic that offers a unique balance of properties. It has high stability when exposed to harsh thermal, chemical, and ultraviolet environments. Kynar® 340 resin can be melt-processed by standard methods of extrusion.

Properties

Kynar® 340 has a very low resistivity, below 106 Ohm.cm.
Kynar® keeps all specific properties of PVDF such as high mechanical strength, high abrasion and chemical resistance, low permeability or its low flame and smoke characteristics.

Markets and Applications

  • Extrusion of pipes and sheets
  • Injection molding of parts for valves and pumps
