  Arkema offers a full line of organic peroxides for use as initiators in the production of acrylic resins for paints and coatings. Luperox® Organic Peroxides are the products of choice for many acrylic resin and coating applications. Our products offer advantages in high-solids-coating resins by generating low molecular weights and narrow polydispersities. Our organic peroxides are polymerization initiators for high-solids acrylic resins used in the automotive industry. And many of our specialty epoxide products are used to improve the reactivity and processability of UV coatings. 

We provide highly focused services with a wide variety of specialized chemical products, from Orgasol® ultrafine polyamide powders, which offer unique performance enhancements, to liquid phenones used as photo initiators. They also help improve the abrasion resistance of can coatings and coil coatings. 

Building finishes based on Kynar 500® polyvinylidene fluoride resins are world-renowned as premium architectural coatings for metal-clad monumental, commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings. Coatings of Rilsan® Fine Powders are virtually impervious to extremes of pressure, chemical, and temperature. Rilsan® Fine Powders provide high dimensional stability, good resistance to stress cracking, and low moisture absorption. Rilsan® Fine Powders also have a low coefficient of friction, allowing products coated with it to shrug off abrasion.

Fascat® Catalysts are a broad line of organometallic materials specifically designed for coating cure. They perform in epoxies, urethanes, polyester, acrylic, and hybrid systems for the automotive, coil, powder, adhesives, and wood markets. The strength of this product line, plus our ability to develop new catalysts, is meeting emerging demands of the marketplace. Our Norsocryl® Acrylic Monomers are used as an ingredient in the manufacture of polymers for paints and coatings. Each of our monomers have their own unique properties which can impart improved adhesion or coating durability to many different surfaces. In addition, our monomers are also used in the formulation of coatings for leather and the pulp and paper industry.

Arkema Emulsion Systems produces and markets a wide range of emulsion polymers used as binders for architectural and industrial coatings, elastomeric roof and wall coatings and traffic paints. Products include UCAR® 100% Acrylic Latex; UCAR® Styrene and Vinyl Acrylic Latexes; Evocar® Ethylene Modified Polymers; Neocar® Acrylic and Neocar® Latex; and UCAR® Flex Latex for elastomeric coatings. Many of our new products carry the EnVia® trademark, indicating that the products have been certified to help formulators meet sustainability and regulatory goals in their products.
