Rilsan® Clear Benefits: Stress Cracking Resistance

Rilsan® Clear demonstrates much better chemical resistance than previous generations of transparent polyamides.  Environmental stress cracking resistance (ESCR) is an excellent indicator of chemical resistance.  The plot and photo below show the resilience of Rilsan® Clear against alcohol attack.

Samples were immersed under stress and severe conditions : pure solvent during 22 hours at 23°C (ISO 4599)

 

 

 

PASA (from direct polymerization): Semi-aromatic polyamides; 1st generation transparent polyamides characterized by rigidity and limited chemical resistance.

PACA: Cycloaliphatic polyamides; 2nd generation transparent polyamides with improved flexibility and improved alcohol resistance.

Rilsan® Clear G350: 3rd generation transparent polyamides with greater flexibility and unprecedented levels of alcohol resistance.
