Our Business Unit holds leading commercial positions based on strong brands, widely respected products, and assertive R&D. Hence Arkema is the world leader in long chain Polyamides with Rilsan® polyamide 11 and Rilsamid® polyamide 12 and also in Heatseal Copolyamides with Platamid®. 

We have operations in Balan, Carling, Marseille, Mont, and Serquigny in France,  Birdsboro and King of Prussia in the United States, as well as in Japan and China.

We manufacture and market a wide range of products used in many applications :

Polyamides 

As well as Orgalloy® , Arkema manufactures:

• Pebax® Polyether Block Amides for athletic shoes, toy manufacture, watchmaking, car manufacture, etc.
• Platamid® Heatseal Copolyamides for bonding fabrics in the textile industry (garments and automotive interior fittings).
• Rilsamid® High-performance Polyamide 12 for cars and trucks, electrical and cable industry, food and medical packaging, etc.
• Rilsan® Bio-based High-performance Polyamide 11 for oil and gas applications, car manufacture, textile industry, etc.
• Rilsan® Clear Transparent Polyamides for spectacles frames, medical equipement (valves, fittings), etc.
• Rilsan®HT First flexible polyphtalamide to replace metal and rubber in high-temperature tubing applications, especially for automotive in the engine compartment.

Fine and Ultra Fine Powders

• Orgasol® Ultra Fine Powders for cosmetics formulations (powder, cream, foundation, lipstick, sunscreen), carriers for active ingredients (vitamins A and E).
• Orgasol® Ultra Fine Powders as additives for paints, varnishes, paper, inks and adhesives.
• Rilsan® Polyamide Fine Powders for protection of automotive parts (spline shafts, brake hoses), water pipes, other (dishwasher baskets, hosiery).

Functional Polyolefins

• Evatane® Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) for adhesives, cables, polymer modified bitumen, films and solar panel encapsulation.
• Lotryl® Ethylene Acrylate Copolymers for adhesives, cables, polymer modification, protective film, extrusion coating and sealable peelable layer.
• Lotader® Ethylene Acrylate Terpolymer, used as impact modifier for polymers, coupling agent in halogen free flame retardant (HFFR) cables, adhesive for the manufacturing of compound materials and food packaging, etc.
• Orevac® used for packaging applications (co-extrusion and lamination of multilayer barrier structures, adhesion between polyolefins and barrier materials) and industrial applications (tie layers in multilayer structures, adhesion between polyolefins and polar materials such as EVOH, PA, Epoxy or Aluminium).

Oleris^TM - Castor Oil Derivatives

• Heptanoic Acid (flavors, cosmetics and lubricants, anticorrosion properties, plasticizers)
• Heptaldehyde and Heptanol (flavors, fragrances)
• Undecylenic Acid and Methyl undecylenate (fragrances, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals)
• Esterol A (lubricants, additives for leather treatment )
