Flexible Packaging

 

• Medium barrier structures

Orevac® adhesive are designed to reach high adhesion between PA & polyolefins and are optimised for the best performance at the lowest cost.

 

• High barrier structures

 

PE / Orevac® / EVOH / Orevac®  / PE

 

- The usual barrier material for these applications is EVOH, which provides a long shelf life.
- As a results of Arkema's long experience in the yield of grafting technology and adhesion science, specific Orevac® adhesive resins have been developed.

 

• Aluminium structures

 

Aluminium / Orevac®  / PP

 

- These structures are currently used for lidding of retortable packaging.
- Specific PP based Orevac grades are available with suitable rheology for extrusion coating.

 

 

Rigid Packaging

 

• Sheet Barrier Structures

 

PE / Orevac® / EVOH / Orevac® / PS
PE / Orevac® / EVOH / Orevac®  / PET
PP / Orevac® / EVOH / Orevac® / PP

 

- Commonly used barrier materials for these applications are EVOH and PET.
- Thermoformability is an important criteria for the processing of the structure.

- Specific Orevac® adhesive resins have been developed to bond PS, PA, PET or EVOH efficiently to polyolefins.

 

 

• Bottles: Blow Moulding Coextrusion

 

PP / REGRIND / Orevac® / EVOH / Orevac® / PP
HDPE / REGRIND / Orevac®  / PA

 

- The required performance for these structures could be high barrier properties (oxygen, gas, aroma), chemical resistance or specific mechanical properties.

- The Orevac® adhesives resins, specific for such applications, have suitable rheology for the blow moulding process, providing outstanding adhesion to PA or EVOH barrier materials, with good recycling characteristics.
