Dry Disconnect Couplings

 

Environmental regulations, quality assurance and safety have been the driving force behind Arkema's program to improve the technology used in tank truck deliveries of Forane® products. Through the Dry Disconnect Program, Arkema will supply all customers with one 15 foot 2 inch liquid hose and one 15 foot 1.25 inch vapor hose and a dry disconnect coupler for each hose. Use of these dry disconnect couplings enable the hose to be disconnected from the storage tank without releasing any chemical. There are many benefits to these fittings including reduced emissions and contamination, increased savings, and enhanced safety.

 

 

Exposure Monitoring Program

 

Arkema will, on request, perform limited scope personnel sampling surveys to assess employee exposure to HCFC-141b blowing agent, or other products, during routine manufacturing operations. This program exists to assist customers, who are becoming increasingly interested in knowing the levels of workplace exposure to chemicals in their plants.

 

 

First Delivery

 

As part of Arkema's product stewardship, an Arkema representative will accompany the first bulk delivery of product to a customer location to ensure that everything proceeds smoothly and that all information is correctly documented. The customer fills out a Delivery Instruction Form prior to placing the order and the Arkema representative will confirm this information upon the visit. This will help service and expedite future deliveries more efficiently.

 

In order to alleviate some common problems, it should be noted that Arkema uses a 7.5 hp, 3 phase pump motor for its bulk transporters, which requires 220V or 440V 3 phase power. It is recommended to use a 20403-style connector in an appropriate receptacle housing located within 50 ft. of where the truck will be located. The box should be equipped with an on/off switch so the power cord can be connected and disconnected to a de-energized power supply. Arkema recommends 30 amp time-delay fuses to protect the circuit from overload. Ever-Tite® standard quick connect couplings or Forane® Dry Disconnect couplings can be used for the connectors for product transfer hoses.

Remote Inventory Monitoring System (RIMS)

 

Arkema has initiated a program to monitor and control delivery and usage of product at remote customer sites through convenient, reliable, and accurate monitoring systems located at Arkema's headquarters in Philadelphia. Industrial grade, weatherproof systems are mounted directly at the customer's tank or control room. The remote monitors communicate with the system in Philadelphia to update usage information.
