Spray Application
Forane® 142b/22 (60/40) is gaseous at atmospheric conditions. Forane® 142b/22 has a low thermal conductivity and has good solubility in polyurethane chemicals. This allows for high usage levels while maintaining standard processing drums and equipment. The product is a non-flammable blend. Foams produced with Forane® 142b/22 have very good properties as shown below.

Appliance Application
Forane® 142b/22 has low vapor thermal conductivity at low temperature. This allows the polyurethane foam produced with Forane® 142b/22 to have good insulation value at low temperature. Forane® 142b/22's low temperature thermal conductivity allows refrigerators and freezers to consume less energy. Although gaseous at atmospheric conditions, this product has good solubility in polyurethane chemicals. Forane® 142b/22 's good solubility allows for the polyurethane system to achieve optimum flow. This ensures the foam to flow for filling and insulating the entire cabinet.

Panel Application
Forane® 142b/22 has good low temperature thermal conductivity. The low boiling point of the material allows the blowing agent to remain in the vapor phase in cold temperature applications, such as walk-in freezers. Since the blowing agent remains a vapor at low temperatures, this allows for improved insulation and stability. The high solubility of Forane® 142b/22 in polyurethane chemicals allows for blends with high loading levels with low vapor pressures.
