Arkema is the world's largest supplier of Forane® fluorochemical blowing agents for the rigid foam and other industries. Arkema, as a manufacturer of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFC's), hydrofluorocarbons (HFC's) and hydrochlorocarbons (HCC's), has the widest product range of any industrial manufacturer.
Arkema is committed to this industry, having been the first producer of HCFC-141b and HCFC-142b, materials which replaced CFC-11 and CFC-12. Arkema has continued to develop solutions beyond HCFC's, introducing hydrocarbon blowing agents, improving processing of HFC-134a, and improving fire performance of pentanes using trans-1,2-dichloroethylene, with more on the horizon.
