Inks, Varnishes, and Toners
|
Inks, varnishes and toners are important application markets of acrylic monomers.
For example, Arkema's (meth)acrylates provide several uses in the inks, varnishes, and toners marketplace. Norsocryl® MMA is largely used as the main “hard“ monomer and Norsocryl® BA and 2EHA as soft monomers to manufacture pure acrylic, styrene-acrylic and vinyl acrylic aqueous dispersions for varnishes and inks. BA and 2EHA are also used to produce solvent borne acrylic resins used as varnishes.
Norsocryl® Acrylic (AA) copolymerised with styrene creates dispersants used in aqueous dispersions for ink production.
Aliphatic monomers, like Norsocryl® SMA can be co-polymerised with standard Acrylates and Methacrylates to produce solvent-borne resin varnishes to improve water resistance.
