Arkema announced today that effective July 1, 2009, or as contracts allow, it will raise the price of its oxygenated solvents in Europe by 50 Euro/ton.
This price adjustment is necessary to offset the increase of raw materials and energy. Solvents impacted by this increase are:
· Methyl Isobutyl Ketone (MIBK),
· Diacetone Alcohol (DAA),
· Hexylene Glycol (HG),
· Isophorone.
The oxygenated solvents manufactured by Arkema are used in a wide range of markets such as paints and coatings, pharmaceuticals, lubricants, detergency and personal care.
