Arkema-Pagora 2008 award

For the fourth year in a row, Arkema has rewarded the author of the best graduation project in the field of paper fibers, among 3rd year student engineers from the Ecole Grenoble INP-PAGORA, formerly the Ecole Française de Papeterie et des Industries Graphiques (EFPG – International School for the Paper and Printing Industries), with the presentation of the Arkema Award.

 

This award was presented at the graduation ceremony for engineers on November 28th 2008 in Grenoble, France, in the presence of many students, teachers, paper manufacturers, and the guest of honour for the evening, Philippe Leydier, President and CEO of the Emin Leydier Group, European leader in recycled paper packaging.

 

The Arkema 2008 Award was presented to Michel Roques by Pierre Larnicol, Arkema, for his original work on the optimisation of recycled paper de-inking lines, in particular their fiber yield. The winner has developed a simulation software integrating the physico-chemical conditions of de-inking plants regarding losses of material. The simulator has been validated by a series of experiments conducted in a plant.Arkema’s participation in this event and its ongoing backing for research underline its commitment to the paper industry.


PAGORA (Engineering School for Papermaking, Printing and Biomaterials) is part of the Grenoble Institute of Technology. The School trains the future managers of the papermaking and printing industry, in partnership with a large number of industries both in France and from around the world.
