Arkema at Plast Eurasia 2006

11/28/2006

The Arkema Group is taking part in the International Exhibition Plast Eurasia in Istanbul, Turkey. From Wednesday,  November 29th to Sunday,  December 3rd, 2006.

Plast Eurasia 2006 provides Arkema with a showcase for its extensive range of :

BlocBuilder® Technology refers to Arkema’s nitroxide-based controlled radical polymerization technology, useful in developing polymers with novel tailored performance properties.

Organic peroxides are used extensively as a source of free radicals for the polymerization of unsaturated monomer.

Provides rubber and  polyolefins with outstanding mechanical, thermal and chemical performance, obtained through the formation of  bonds between the rubber chains.
This operation is called cross-linking or vulcanization.

Unsaturated Polyester Resins (UPR) is a blend of unsaturated polyester in a reactive monomer, usually styrene. Being a viscous liquid, UPR can be implemented with a wide range of technologies and shaped in the form of objects of almost any dimension, from buttons to boat hulls.

Rilsan® Fine Powders are unique thermoplastic Polyamide 11 powders, developed for metal coating more than 40 years ago.

Rilsan Polyamide 11 is produced from a renewable natural raw material, the Ricinus Communis (Castor Oil) plant, which grows in tropical regions.

Rilsan® coating is a proven surface protection given its excellent chemical and mechanical properties. It can also be used as an additive in paints, as well as in Laser Sintering process.

Lacovyl® are mass,  suspension or emulsion polymers of vinyl chloride. They are used in plates, profiles, pipes, sheets, bottle manufacturing, paper and fabric coatings.
Lacovyl® Lucalor® is a chlorinated polyvinyl chloride manufactured by Lacovyl® chloration.

The extensive range of Nakan® includes rigid and flexible grades for extrusion, injection, pressing and roto-molding, offering manufacturer end-users a full range of possibilities, which can be well adapted to their specific applications

Headquartered in Philadelphia in the United States, the Additives Business Unit is represented across the world and operates production facilities in the United States (Carrollton, Kentucky; Axis, Alabama; Blooming Prairie, Minnesota), Europe (Pierre Bénite, France; Vlissingen, Netherlands) and Asia (Beijing and Canton, China; Tokyo, Japan).

Arkema subsidiary Altuglas International accounts for 20% of world production and sales of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), also known as acrylic glass. The company has a worldwide presence, with 8 production facilities (3 in Europe, 4 in North America and 1 in South Korea).

A global chemical player, Arkema combines 3 related and integrated business segments: Vinyl Products, Industrial Chemicals, and Performance Products. Present in over 40 countries with 18400 employees, Arkema achieves sales of 5.7 billion euros (2005). With its research centers in France, the United States and Japan, and internationally recognized brands, Arkema holds leadership positions in its principal markets.
