Nakan®: a new player in the coatings market

The Arkema subsidiary Resilium exhibited for the first time at this year's European Coatings Show. This company now markets a vinyl compound for the wire coating market under its tradename Nakan®.

Resilium's research laboratory has developed a new application for its free-flowing thermoplastic vinyl polymer powders. Marketed under the tradename Nakan®, these powders can now be used to coat wire, and are particularly suited to the fluidised bed application process.

The main market for this application is the coating of wire netting and garden fencing, as Nakan® provides the coating with a number of unique properties for this type of outdoor applications:
- Weathering resistance
- Impact and temperature resistance
- Natural ageing stability
- Straightforward processing
