Arkema, first producer of Polyether-Block-Amide (Pebax®) and ALVEO, the European leading manufacturer of crosslinked Polyolefin foams are working together for the development of a range of foams marketed under the Pebaxfoam® trademark.
These Pebax® based foams show unique properties among which :
- Softness
- Light weight
- Thermal insulation
- Shape recovery
- Energy return
- Water vapour permeability
- Flexibility at low temperature
- Excellent UV and ageing resistance
- High friction coefficient
These foams can be converted by traditional foam processing methods including lamination, thermoforming, adhesive coating, welding and die cutting.
The unique properties of these materials make them high-tech components for a broad spectrum of applications ranging from insoles to grips, or from heel inserts to gaskets.
The Pebaxfoam® product range benefits from the combined know how of Arkema for PEBAX® and ALVEO for the foam technology.
ALVEO and Arkema are sharing R&D and marketing effort for the development of this new material which will be commercialized by ALVEO.
