Arkema increases Orevac® production capacity at Mont Plant

Arkema has announced a major increase in the production of Orevac® functional polyolefins at its Mont facility in France (Pyrenees Atlantiques). The Orevac® production capacity will be boosted by 10,000 tpa after completion of the extension due in December 2005.

« This capital expenditure will allow us to respond effectively to market trends and to our customers' increasing requirements », explains Bernard Roche, Group President Technical Polymers Business Unit. This expansion marks Arkema's ongoing drive to consolidate its Mont production plants for fast-expanding specialty products.

Orevac® functional polyolefins are used as tie-layers for multilayer food packaging as well as in industrial applications (fuel tanks, pipe coating, heating pipes, halogen-free flame-retardant cables, composites, etc.). As a renowned leader in this product range, Arkema fulfils 25% of European demand for Orevac® type polyolefins.
