As a top-tier chemical concern, Arkema uses a wide array of resources to communicate reliable, pertinent and timely information, both internally and externally, concerning our financial position and earnings.

 

Arkema’s spin-off into an independent listed company is placing heavy demands on our financial teams. Accounting & Financial Control will produce the consolidated financial statements vital to the annual report that we will be required to publish, and Corporate Finance & Cash Management will handle relations with banks directly. The Tax Department is preparing Arkema’s new guidelines and requirements.

 

Each team plays a very specialized role in financial processes:

 

  • Accountants responsible for cost, financial and consolidated accounting keep company accounts in accordance with professional practices.
  • Management accountants prepare and monitor budgets and projects.
  • Cash management personnel optimize the financial profitability of a unit and complete economic analyses.
  • Tax specialists (customs and taxes) determine the best tax strategies and assist all company units with tax issues, both in France and abroad.

 

 

In support of these various duties, auditors check the fairness, truthfulness and reliability of procedures and accounts, based on applicable laws and standards.

 

The financial information system supports them by designing and implementing all accounting IS applications.

 

Finally, investor relations officers play a key role in informing internal and external stakeholders.
