Protecting health and the environment

Over and above essential compliance with regulations, Arkema has set up environmental management systems (EMSs) at all its facilities, based on ongoing performance improvement. These EMSs lead to external certification, usually based on the ISO 14001 international standard.

 

Environmental monitoring

All sites conduct rigorous and systematic monitoring of their emissions and wastes, and relevant indicators allow periodic evaluation of progress in reducing environmental impacts.

 

Evaluating the various impact

 

 

The facilities' environmental performance evaluation is not limited to this monitoring. Where necessary, Arkema evaluates the environmental impact of its activities to ensure that populations living near the plants are not exposed to health risks. Relationships established as part of the Common Ground® program enable us to inform residents of the results of such studies.
