Meeting the needs of a growing population by developing renewable raw materials

Through its product innovations using bio-based raw materials, the Arkema group intends to meet the increasing needs of the world’s people while at the same time conserving fossil resources.

By developing products made from bio-based raw materials, the Arkema group is doing its part to conserve non-renewable fossil feedstocks. The focus of these developments is on bio-based polymers, glycerol derivatives and vegetable oils.

Another way that the Group is conserving fossil resources is by improving its industrial processes and efficiencies.

Products supplied by the chemical industry (plastics, fertilizers, detergents, cosmetics, paints, phyto-sanitary products, etc.) are necessary for the world’s economic development. However, these products are strongly tied to fossil resources.

The gradual depletion of these resources – coupled with population growth – creates a need for new solutions able to reduce reliance on fossil resources and preserve the environment.
